Bathroom Handle Bacteria
Working with Andie Shuck
Biology Survey Research laboratory 101
Bacteria are among the first forms of existence on earth. There is certainly an average you will find 40 million bacterial cells in a gram of soil and a thousand in just a milliliter of fresh water. Even humans have bacteria inside their internal organs and on their very own skin. Only a few bacteria happen to be harmful; a lot of bacteria types are helpful and necessary for success. Bacteria are generally a few micrometers in length and range in shapes of supports, spirals and spheres. Within our lab try things out Andie and I took a swab and rubbed all this around the button on the bath room stall manage. We took samples from the young boys and girls bathroom. Each of our hypotheses is that after a couple weeks of the bacterias growing in the agar, out of the two agers and the two sides, the boys in the incubator may have more bacteria then the ladies in the incubator or place temperature plus the boys for room temperatures.
All of us started out try out collecting both ager food. Then we all divided the two ager food in half; one side was for the men's rest room and the additional side was for the women's. We all labeled the sides and in addition labeled a single ager dish to be kept at area temperature and the other being incubated for 35 deg Celsius. Even as we had anything labeled. We had the young boys go into all of them men's restroom with a dry to clean the deal with of the bath room stall for people. While the boys did the men's rest room, Andie and I swabbed the women's not work knob. We all made sure to swab the handle very well to ensure the best benefits. Once we swabbed the knob, we applied it onto the can certainly half of the ager food. Once we were done with the women's all of us repeated the task with the men's side if the
ager, making sure all of us covered the same amount of area on the agar. Once they had been swabbed and labled, we sealed them with tape and put one in the incubator and kept the other at room temperatures to take two weeks.
